Over the years Joe has helped Austin as a private instructor (he was the main instructor when he was younger), and continued to teach Austin lessons over the years when he would come home during breaks from school. Joe has been a great adviser and guide to Austin not only in playing, but in advising on equipment as well.
Last summer we were at Joe's place (Mid-South Music) for some tuba repair and Austin tried out two of the Blokepieces. We listened to him play on various mouthpieces and both preferred the sound of the Blokepieces in blind tests over the other mouthpieces he had. We purchased both mouthpieces that day and I know Austin is enjoying them very much.
