I'm only admitting this publicly to encourage others. Please don't ask "how". There are plenty of "how's". The only question to ask oneself is, "Me?" and the only acceptable answer is "Yes!"

The only difficult thing is to start. The rest is easy. You'll be happier, more comfortable, and get more things done.

I have a long way to go. I'll make it.

Right now is the perfect time to start - the perfect "excuse" to not abuse late December and to not add even more pounds to an already-lumbering and overly-encumbered physique.
Good work, Joe! Keep it up!

Marginally related, my wife took me to see the NY Philharmonic principal brass Christmas concert on Sunday, and even she remarked how much weight Alan Baer has lost over the past few years. Lean tuba players are the future! :P

Went to the Hamburg radio symphony yesterday and am about to go hear the Berlin Phil. It's okay to be jealous.

I've seen the Berlin Phil twice in the past 2 years (once in Berlin, once in New York). I am still very jealous!

Got a house full of folks for the weekend. We just watched "Christmas Vacation". I can see some parallels!

Actually, I heard that in dialectic translation, what the Mayans ACTUALLY prophesied was the end of this thread on 12/21/12. But I can see that it's still here, too.

Thank you. NEXT!

I admit to being one of over 1,000,000,000 people who watched PSY's "Gangnam Style" video. I liked it. Don't judge me.

Glad you replied to that psor of mine. I need to edit it to say. "There is NO limit to the joy to being a grandfather. We had ours early since our son had to get on a plane to Houston today. Christmasa morn will be all too quiet and all too loney at our place.

A SOUSAPHONE!

Not just any sousaphone, but a raincatcher - in BBb too!

Talked with the manager and managed to make an offer.

It's definitely a Carl Fisher, though looks like a Conn or York stencil. It needs holes patched, some bell screws and some small other bits, but WOW, what a find!

It has a top first slide and what looks like a 16 or 17 inch bell.

Now to get it home!
Pics?
