Mouthpiece duplication in stainless

Hi.
This won't apply to many folks...

A well known and respected manufacturer of SS mouthpieces say a Stainless copy of a brass mouthpiece often doesn't work.
This goes against the logic within my head.

Another well respected SS mouthpiece maker offers a duplication service, from brass into SS.
So for the few who have had mouthpieces duplicated into Stainless, did the copy play just as the brass original?

I recall a discussion, possibly not on TN, of having a Wicks 3 copied in stainless (I think by Houser ?).
The customer was very happy with the result.

I believe that this is how the Blokepiece line came to be offered to the public: Joe had the original in brass and wanted to have it replicated in stainless to keep from having to have the piece buffed and re-plated every few years. It started out as a "group buy" in order to bring the duplication cost down and has turned into what it is today where they are (by comparison) mass produced.

In other words, get in touch with bloke. He would know.
