I remember the announcement of the J.F.K. shooting over the school intercom. I was in AP calculus class, thinking I can be a music major and not have to do this crap any more. >66
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

I'm 66 but I certainly don't feel 'old'. The fact is I can work circles around most of the 'kids' I know.

I'm 66. I was in HS band when it was announced that JFK was assassinated and DO feel old sometimes.

I'll be 77 in April. Possibly the oldest guy on this board (?) I come from a hearty gene pool of people from Kentucky and Tennessee (maternal side), and Illinois, Indiana and Kansas (paternal side). My paternal great grandfather was born in 1847 and served in the Union Army in 1865. He was not a military bandsman but did play cymbals and bass drum in the town band after the Civil War. My maternal great grandfather owned a saw mill in the Tennessee mountains. He would not hire a man unless he agreed to go to prayer meetings on Wednesday evenings and attend church twice on Sundays.

I'll be 55 in March. I was 5 when JFK was shot, and was banished to the back of the house with a "Quick Draw McGraw" record album while the adults clustered in the living room and watched non-stop TV (unheard of in my family; we had several sets of neighbors and friends of my parents, including one couple from a town about an hour away who didn't have TV). I was banished because I blithely went in and tried to change the channel to watch something else other than boring news.

41. Been working IT fulltime since I was 19 (time off for a music ed degree in mid 30's), so I feel older. However, my mental age is probably around here:

The old national speed limit.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

They say you're as old as you feel ... which explains how I got to be 150 so dang quick.

I don't feel like I am getting any older, there are simply more people who are 'my age'. Just turned 47 the end of December.
