Gemeinhardt is Making Tubas
As you all most likely know, Gemeinhardt is known for their flutes. What I found out at last year's OMEA (Ohio Music Educators Association) Conference was that they are making tubas as well. They are in all 4 of the standard keys, and they are all 5 valves. The CC and Eb models were different from any tuba I had ever seen. The 5th valve rotor was a clockwork design, which was different. The big thing that threw me was that the 5th valve was located IN THE TUBING of the 4th valve. What do you guys think of this? Gemeinhardt making tubas. Clockwork rotors coming back. 5th valve being inside the 4th. Discuss away!

That's not really a new concept.tylerferris1213 wrote:.... The big thing that threw me was that the 5th valve was located IN THE TUBING of the 4th valve. ....

It was a new concept for me. What do you think of that idea?

You'll find a ton of posts if you search for 'dependent rotor'.

You will also find a huge thread on the Big Mouth Brass posts. The most recent being about their new 6/4.tylerferris1213 wrote:As you all most likely know, Gemeinhardt is known for their flutes.
