Ah. I see your point, but disagree with your conclusion.
The idea that higher education institutions aren't required to list salaries in a job advertisement (as most employers aren't) doesn't relate very well to the veracity of such information when it IS provided. Are you implying that higheredjobs.com just "made it up"?
I think that's incredibly unlikely, and the number is almost surely accurate.

Pfft. If your only contribution is to chastise others for their comments, then I ask...who's the troll?
...I was just making a comment as an aside. I'm not sure why you love arguing and being correct so much.
Are you applying for the job? Why do you care so much? I just don't really get it...

You quoted my response to SeanMClancy. Did you think I was talking to you?
If not, and you're referring to my disagreement about higheredjobs.com "making up the number," then I don't see any evidence to believe they did that. Why would they specifically put $25K plus benefits if that information were not provided by the employer? It seems like a really odd position to take that they would just throw a number out there.

If you'll look at my posts in the thread, I've simply argued that $25K plus benefits isn't the "insulting" salary some people keep insisting it is. In reality, it's pretty good. I have some experience to back up my opinion.

I just "quoted" your entire post in order to reply - I didn't mean anything specific to Sean or your other response.
I have no qualms with your points about HigherEdJobs. I was just trying to make a potentially helpful comment in my original post about the job listing. I was just asking why you care so much about proving your point.
It very well might be 25k, and I'm on your side in saying that is a worthwhile job for many people. I was just pointing out that the job listing on ETSU's site posts no salary, and yes, as everyone knows, they are not required to. I have never investigated how jobs get posted/listed on HigherEdJobs, so I don't know where that info may have come from.
I apologize for any confusion I may have caused to anyone interested in the position!
