Good to know. I am just tuning into the broadcast now. I don't believe I've missed it. Looking forward to hearing it! As long as I don't have a kid meltdown, all should be good

Some really lovely playing. I don't mind the euphonium being used for Bydlo at all when it's that beautiful.

I do have a comment though...I don't think I've ever heard a performance of this work where the soloist doesn't nudge that last high G# a bit. It's notated to be softer than the phrases before but I don't think I've ever heard it actually PLAYED that way.

And yeah, I'd play that note a bit stronger than indicated, too.

Tim Meyers (sp?) played the solo on euph, well played, and yup, I nudge that note too, purely my own insecurity

we actually went again, it was that good. a few interesting things happened, but the music was so dang good it knocked any blemishes out of consideration. The conductor was amazing too...tonight, he did a lot more of the non-waving conducting than last night. He was also without a score except the Bartok .
Talking with one of the players, he said the maestro was very demanding but knew what he wanted...and I guess he got it!
