Sloppy Stop Arms?
I got in an old Alex for various repairs. The first thing I had to get under control was the extremely 'sloppy' fit of the stop arms to the rotor shafts. There was AT LEAST 15 degrees of 'play'... making valve alignment impossible. The horn was basically unplayable. Here's the fix: http://thevillagetinker.com/Misc%20stuff.htm

Yes... it's very old. Here's an image of the bell badge:tuben wrote:This must be a VERY old Alex... None of the ferrules are like the Alex's I've owned/played.
Nice work Dan.
16" bell... .800" bore... 41" overall length.
I've added some more images of the whole horn to my web page here: http://thevillagetinker.com/Misc%20stuff.htm
