No, No, you're all wrong. two effective alarms:
1.record 4th or 5th graders beginning band classes trying to play Mary Had A Little Lamb as loud as possible, (and most of them being tone-deaf), or
2. beginning clarinet and saxophone players making very loud sounds on their mouthpieces
If you record these above examples, you can wake them up and be very far away when they finally get up.

My wife says that she sleeps through my practicing in the room next to our bedroom (translation: her slumber is no excuse for my missing a practice session).

It's the neighbors who complain about my playing at "odd hours."

At this juncture, this tubist and his neighbors have agreed to "acceptable" hours.
