I'm a whoppin' 27! (But I've also got a wife and three kids, so my students think I'm really old!)

Although I wasn't around when Kennedy was shot, it was strange when the anniversary of 9/11 came around and we discussed it a bit in class, some of my students were little babies when that happened! It made me feel way older than them since that happened when I was in high school.

I was in second grade in the Navy Air Station school in Bermuda when Kennedy was shot. We didn't have a TV so watched some of what was happening at the PX, or at least that's the way I remember it. I too will be 57 this year.

Folks around my age think of the September 11 attacks in the same manner as the previous generation thinks of the Kennedy assassination, it seems to me. I was in 4th grade when that happened.

I believe you're right about that. In my opinion, 9-11 was a much greater tragedy. I am not downplaying the horror of Kennedy's assasination. He was just one man. Sept. 11 had such loss of life. Watching people jump to their deaths was unbelievably horrible.

I'll be 30 in April. September 11 happened during my first week of college. It was a very surreal experience, having grown up in the shadow of Manhattan, I had seen those towers every day of my life, and was away at school for the first time when they came down. Couldn't really process what had happened until I went home that weekend and could see for myself that they were gone.
