Email Woes

Post by Dan Schultz »

OK... I need to draw on the experience of some of you 'tekkies' in tubaland. Apparently my ISP has sporatic problems communicating with other servers. I think this is a matter of 'trusted sources' more than anything. Perhaps Wowway has a history of generating spam. Dunno. But... they won't fix it so I guess I need a work-around.

Would setting up another email account (gmail, hotmail, etc.) make things better? It seems to me that I would still be using my same outgoing ISP server regardless of the email address.

Here is the error message I get.... most recently when trying to email Miraphone:

554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means.

Solutions? Ideas?

Google (et al.) will both send and receive your mail, but of course if you're using email software (as opposed to a web email service), you have to configure it that way - something like SMTP = smtp.gmail.com.
