6 valve tuba

Post by Alex C »

I've seen a bunch of tubas but I've never seen one like this. Rotors and pistons, left and right hand... and it's so cute. Klaus mentions in the post that he thinks it Belgian.

It's a F/B link.

Looks suspiciously frankeneuphish to me.
I'm guessing a Boosey/B&H with the rotors feeding into the compensating circuit.

Noted a reference to another Tubenetter who might reveal all.
Ya dere Tony?

Of course it is Tony with his custom G tuba. The body is from a Kanstul G marching euphonium.

The bends have some angles that reminded me of the tightly wrapped Mahillon 4+2P F tubas. The long whole step slide bends down, where most German F tubas have it bending upwards.

Very interesting!

Sweet! I wish I could justify one... There IS a 5/6 valve euphonium in my future. Somewhere. :D
