Miraphone 289 BBb Tuba

Post by rperrym »

Has anyone played this horn? I have the opportunity to try one out, and I was hoping to get some other input on the horn. I did a search on this forum, but did not get many comments. I suppose it is not a very popular/common horn.
I would appreciate any thoughts on those who have played one.
Thanks,
Rick

That's the one. Thanks for the video. What I do like about the one I am trying out is the valve position, very comfortable and I like the tuning slide access. It also drains very well. Much different sound than my 1291, so I am not sure I could get used to that. But, often times I have to spin the 1291 to get all the water out, which is not getting any easier for a 65 year old.
Thanks for all the input so far.

Little to add other than to say that this is one tuba that I've always wanted to try but have never even seen in person.

I think that I would really like it.
