Audi R8 5.2
I'm thinking about buying one of these. Does anyone on TubeNet have one? Can you fit a 6/4 tuba with case in it?

I do not have one. I sat in one. I sincerely doubt a 6/4 tuba case will fit. Audi R8s are actually quite tiny.

Yes, I know. I was at a local dealership looking at Range Rovers and they also had an R8. It is a very nice looking car. I wonder if I could hook a trailer to the back of the R8 for my tuba.cjk wrote:I do not have one. I sat in one. I sincerely doubt a 6/4 tuba case will fit. Audi R8s are actually quite tiny.

The problem is that it is a mid-engine car. Maybe you could fit the horn in the passenger seat in a gig bag. My fafner fits in most passenger seats in its gig bag.

I'd take one of these:

. . .but to each his own.

Re: Audi R8 5.2
I highly doubt it. And even if it did fit, I bet it would 1) just barely fit, 2) be a pain in the *** to get in/out, and 3) have to go in the front seat.
And for a $150,000 car, that seems like way too much trouble and potential for damage. Not to mention, if there's a tuba in the front seat, where do the women sit? Isn't that *really* the point of a sportscar?

Re: Audi R8 5.2
Yeah - not bringing the little woman is an issue. I used to haul a horn in its gig bag in the passenger seat in two seat sports cars. Women always object to holding the horn in their lap with the top down. I mean they complain about the wind messing their hair up and holding horn in lap is a non-starter.
The other issue I had was I started noticing small indentations in the back of the horn and couldn't figure out how I was getting them until I realized it was where the horn was resting against the seat. When you would hit a pothole hard enough the horn would jump. True sports cars (especially older ones) aren't built for a cushy ride. You wouldn't think the edge of a seat would be hard enough to do it to the horn -but it was. When I stopped driving tubas around in sports cars that stopped. Don't tell Joe or he will trot out his tuba in hard case only lecture.
