This is the first 6/4 CC tuba that I've ever owned that I actually ENJOY playing (outside of the concert hall...ie. when "practicing").
No. I am not trying to sell it, and nor am I advertising to do "conversions" of others.

The magician?
No. The skinny skank who was on first. I think it was Kristen 'something'. The magician was actually pretty good.

I took a tuba, euphonium and bass trombone to the Easter rehearsal Wednesday night because that is what the scores called for. The Euph stays home Sunday and the part gets played on the bass trombone. I just don't feel like hauling all that stuff. Got some really nice parts to play.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

And, just to attempt to be very clear: Both Ole Miss AND the Univ. of Mississippi are in the state of Mississippi, which is in the South. It might even be possible to spot an Elephant, there.
I spent all afternoon yesterday spackling and sanding drywall on the upper level of my house, fixing holes and low spots of all shapes and sizes and tearing out incorrectly installed blinds. The entire area was covered with white dust. Then I took a quick shower and dressed in all black for a very music intensive Good Friday service. On my way out, I remembered the horn I needed to bring was in the closet of the room covered with the most white dust.

I envy you. I'm not quite to the finishing phase yet. I'm still hanging it. I would love to get to the finishing part because my arthritic wrist does not like the hanging phase. I am ready to put up with the dust. My nose objects less than my wrist.

For the suffering masses of drywall installers -- I guess it's a little late to change horses on this, but I'm fairly pleased with my first try at veneer plaster. You put up wall board, and spread maybe 1/8 inch of plaster on it. Or more. It's hard, durable, cool-to-the-touch, and there's no sanding.
The stuff is not to be found at the local lumber stores, big box hardwares etc., and furthermore they'll look at you like you came from Mars, but the places where the building trades go have it. You need a special kind of wallboard ("blue board") and one or two types of gypsum veneer plaster. The plastering part benefits from some skill - so I hacked that pretty bad, but that makes it "organic." On the bright side, it covers all kinds of wreckage in the wallboard install. Along with the blue board, there was some regular drywall and some cement board, now all covered with plaster. I used a white glue concrete bonder for the odd stuff, may have helped.
I do not like drywall for various reasons, and this stuff doesn't solve all the problems - you're still sealing up spaces in the walls so you'll have to wreck the wall to get at them - but at least it isn't as flimsy.

And to make everything clear, Miami University is in Ohio.
Tomorrow, I will go into work, where half of the company in my building (AkzoNobel decorative paints, North America), has been sold to PPG. You would know the best known brands in this sale as Glidden (paint), Liquid Nails (construction adhesives), and Flood (wood stain). It's going to be strange having a building where I can no longer walk from one end of it to the other. In some sections, we'll have to go upstairs and then down to avoid the forbidden zones. The "DMZ" (the shared areas) includes a hallway that goes past my lab and office area. Going to be sad and strange having people you worked with suddenly become the competition.

We have a local paint manufacturer here in Evansville, Indiana. When I was a kid... and up through the 70's was known as Red Spot Paint. I think they now have moved completely from commercial and residential paints to automotive coatings. They've changed names several times in recent years and are now owned by an Asian company.

I was truck shopping yesterday and found out a few things:
No trucks made have a seat that is low enough that I can get my feet on the floor.
No trucks made have a head rest that allows me to sit upright.
It's possible to meet a car salesman that I actually like.
