IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!My Gnagey-phone!
Well I've been talking about it for awhile, and looking for years for a 6/4!! I now Have my own guys!! and I do have enough air for it!yeeaaa! (COPD you know)<s> The fingering is a little strange to me because I have never used a 5 valver..The fifth valve(rotor) seems to be like using the first valve on certain notes... The sound is full and reverberates in my music room and I can play some of the lower notes easier AHHHHH the smell of brass is in the air..... The spit valve is a push button I'm going to hang a little water catcher under it..It's not too heavy .. but I think I'll make a holder for it .... Man my lip is a buzzin I haven't played in 10 months!!The action is pretty good on it ..Man going from the 3j to this is Like riding in a metropolitan then moving to a caddilac..HaHa!I'm sending some pictures of it arriving and thanks to my hot neighbors generosity (the truck driver didn't want to back up my driveway!!! ) She delivered it!, and helped me Get it in the house.. lousy driver<s>It took me around and hour or more to unwrap it! Tubadoor sure made it safe!! sooo here are a few pictures..BB

It's so heartwarming to read and view someone's elation about receiving a tuba that many TubeNet readers would enjoy owning. Particularly after your long wait, congratulations!

Hey, Bob,
I add my congratulation! I'm a little envious!
Maybe I should know this and haven't been keeping up,
but can you tell the story. . .is this direct from Gnagey
or did you get it from another owner? Inquiring minds
want to know! Also some details of how he built it.
Looks like it might be a 2341 chassis, but (if that's
true) what did he stack on it . . .
Very Best of Luck with It!!

Congrats Bob
I know you've wanted a 6/4 tuba for quite a while now.
Looks more compact than I would have thought - should make it easier for transport

Bob, I'm really happy for you. I know you've wanted this for a long, long time. I'm privileged to be a part of it, even if only vicariously through pictures. I know you'll be happy playing for many, many years to come.

Hi and thank you ....I'm the 3rd owner Timcarlo bought it from Sam the tim sold it to Eric(tubadoor) Now it's mine forever<s> The bell is from a cerveny, the branches are from a 6/4 martin BB..The rotor is either German or Czeck..The 4th piston is from a Conn sousaphone ...the other 3 are from a King 2340 three valve tuba...the three valves are 687" the 4th is 734" and the rotor is 19mm or 748" I'm still tring to get used to it I've played two hours today Just love it so far<s> thanks for asking!...BBroyjohn wrote:Hey, Bob,

Nice horn Bob! It's quite wintry in PA still! I can't believe that driver couldn't carry it up to the house. Enjoy playing your new baby!

Re: IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!My Gnagey-phone!
I've always liked looking at Sam's horns. I even owned a 4/4 of his for a while. Great little horn. I think this horn will make you happy for a very long time Bob. I am glad that you finally found a 6/4 at a time when you had some dough to buy it. Post some audio/video on of these days when you have gotten used to the beast!
Take care!
