Hmmm... I wonder where they cut it? Looks like enough tubing for a BBb to me. ??? Two feet is a lot to take out of the open bugle without being noticed. dunno.

I am very sure it is in its original BBb incarnation.
My main complaint with eBays is about misrepresentations. This one is extra silly because the seller thinks he is smart in knowing that the BBb tuba plays from music in concert pitch. Only he shouldn't have confused that with the fundamental pitch of the instrument.

Is that visible in the photo documentation?KiltieTuba wrote:From the seller:
The whole first branch was removed. I can send the parts if you wish to restore it to BBb but the slides have been shortened approx 11% as well.

I think I'm beginning to understand now. It appears that the main tuning slide is missing! At least it's not where it's supposed to be.

I obviously have to admit to starting out this thread with a skeptical/ironic approach. Didn't see any obvious cut. And I am not too familiar with the 104, which is the one that may be converted to an on-the-shoulder setup by means of a second leadpipe. But when the seller tells the killertie, that it is cut and he has the cut tubing, then I have to take another look. I don’t have a comparative photo taken from the same angle as any of the auction photos, only this one:
There 4 downward bows are visible.
The auction rear view shows the inner, narrow, loop has been removed and has been replaced by a short straight replacement tube going directly from the valve block into the dogleg:
