If you like the San Juans, you may like this clip on YouTube. It has a bonus of Eric Korngold's beautiful music to match.Mirafan wrote:Ouray, Colorado in the fall when the Aspens have turned their beautiful colors and the San Juans

Thanks Ace, a beautiful video indeed. Now I'm confused, maybe I should have said for my
favorite place Ouray in the spring. The wildflowers certainly don't take a back seat to the Aspens
in the fall.

Any place is made more beautiful when the people we love are in it. Because of that I have wonderful memories of several places but I'd narrow it down to a deserted beach on the west coast of Florida at this moment.

I did this for my honeymoon. Absolutely beautiful. If you're wanting to go, sooner is better, as the glaciers are receding and a lot of the attraction of the area will be lost. The Big Ben wrote: Maybe a cruise in SE Alaska....

My first thought was Riverwalk in San Antonio.
But, thanks to bearphonium for reminding me that Hawaii is high on my list - and where I wish my ashes to be scattered ...
But, I hope to see more of the former before the latter.

If I could ever go there again I would love to go back to Wales. One of the greatest places I've ever been.

The bathroom. When you gotta go, no place else beats it.

When traveling, find the restrooms as soon as you arrive. After all (with apologies to Jon Kabat-Zinn), "wherever you are, there you go" ...bort wrote:What about travel, Marty?

Re: Favorite place in the world
My shop in about fifteen minutes. I'm going to attempt to reassemble a garland (kranz, etc.) and a new wire to a European-style tuba bell. I've simply replaced lots of bells that were 'wadded-up' or just rolled them out with the garland still attached but have never attempted to restore one.
Question for you repair guys... why do they use a steel wire inside the garland/bell rim instead of a brass wire? It looks like the assembly would be a lot solider if the three pieces could be soldered together. As it is... the steel wire can rust and degrade.

And I'll bet the house had nothing to do with your feelings about that place, rather the people you shared it with, the elephant wrote:2117 Stella Street, Denton, Texas, in a house which no longer exists.
