Nauders, Austria
Wattens, Austria
Wolkenstein, Italy
All 3 places are
obscenely beautiful, and hardly seem like they exist on the same planet as New York.
(And I love New York, I'm just sayin'!)

Vancouver, British Columbia. Same 21st Army Band, combined with Fourth Infantry Division Band, invited to march in downtown Vancouver parade. The Canadians greeted us very warmly.

Bahrain with orchestra play Brahms Requiem. I out of the blue got email asking me to play all expenses paid and I initially thought it a wind-up.
I flew out with Eb tuba strapped into the seat beside me and was met at aurport and was guest of (I think) the US military attaché in his villa.
I have also spent many hours practicing in Nanning park while in China, but don't count that

2007, the year before I met my wife.
Not that it would stop me now. She is very tolerant of my tuba playing
