Frustrating Sunday afternoon. Read in the morning paper about a great wildflower trail in North Georgia called "The Pocket". Went online and found "The Pocket" State park and then drove an hour and a half to get there. Was presented with an easy hiking trail through the most desolate landscape one can imagine. Obvious results of a tornado several years back. No wildflowers, absolutely none! Upon returning I did a bit more research online and found that there are two places named "The Pocket" in North Georgia, 20 miles apart, and I was at the wrong one. I would have appreciated it if the guy that wrote the article would have mentioned that fact.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

TubeNet policy forbids politics. It's a frequently violated policy, and threads frequently disappear. It's respected for the sake of this particular thread (Update Update), though. It would be a shame for the whole silly thing to disappear, so we try to get a grip on ourselves for just this one thread.

At least not in this thread. It has become "precious" to many here . . .

I, for one, think that is a great suggestion. Especially when it comes to tubas/euphoniums.

UPDATE: It is raining in the spring in Oregon. This is after a very dry first quarter of the year.

You have been updated.

We had a half inch of sleet, delivered in about 15 minutes in parts of Seattle. It's still on the ground, despite some rain since, and I expect to see it tomorrow morning. April is rarely a great month around here, it's often cold, wet, windy. The sleet is weird, but not out of character.

Sunday April 14th and snow is still here. The streets are a mess with car swallowing potholes and water. The city tried to do a photo-op in a residential neighborhood of three of its graders trying to shave down a large piece of ice. While the camera was running, the first grader's blade hit the ice and that damn ice was so hard that the grader's front wheels torqued about two and a half feet straight up. Funny how the photo-op ended immediately. Just think, in five more months we'll be starting this all over again or just carrying on as is now because it has not ended yet. GRR!!

Winter storm "Xerxes" is supposed to drop up to 2 feet of snow here by tomorrow morning. In the mean time, my quest for a new grill continues in the hope that I'll actually be able to use it sometime.

My mistake, they just updated it and now we're only supposed to get 1 foot of snow. I better get a snow day out of this

Bad news for Louisiana TubeNetters - nobody will be able to see your TubeNet Thong on under your concert tux if you can't wear saggy pants any more :!:

Image

You've been updated on the status of saggy pants in Louisiana.

I've lost about 10 pounds over the past year or so. Now none of my clothes fit. I'm not sure which will be cheaper -- buying and eating more food, or buying more clothes. :)

Let us know how your lame excuse for having saggy pants/showing your TubeNet thong for all the world to see plays out down Louisiana way with the Gendarmes. :P
