I just put money down on a 2003 BMW R1150R. Can't wait for spring! Have to get some $ together, still trying to sell the Edwards, maybe the helicon will have to go too?

I vow never to be without a bike.We ride all year long here on the Gulf Coast.Even in January and February we have the occasional day that is great for riding. Not the vehicle for toting a tuba, however.

I rode until I became a single parent. I gave it up but now that my youngest is 16 I'm starting to get the urge to buy one again. Now, if I can only get the wife to go along with my plans

And Glen Call (though he's not a frequenter of Tubenet).

I have a problem with motorcyles myself. I was explaining it to my ex-fighter-jock-now-airline-pilot uncle some years ago. I told him that if all I had to do was twist my wrist to go faster, I would. He told me I was not yet old and mature enough to own a motorcycle.

Then, he took me out to the garage to show me his new Harley.

He was 50 at the time. Now that I'm approaching 50, I see that my imagination has developed enough to visualize the effects of going too fast on a motorcycle, I might be approaching the time when I could "be mature enough."

But in that past conversation with my uncle, I was single. Now, alas, I'm not.

you are not a biker - you are a spectator.
Never said I was a biker....thats the type of person that will ride when the forcast calls for rain(btw...I have ridden in the rain but only because I had no car ) . I like to ride, that's it. As to waiting, marrital harmony and basic economics are much more important to me than any motorcycle  Kinda like with my tuba....she doesent have to love it, but one way or the other she helps pay for it :D When money is no object again compaired to the cost of the bike I SHALL RIDE AGAIN :!:

I rode various motorcycles from 1962 thru 1983 when I had a string of close-calls and finally came to my senses :!: I have an MG Midget now... THAT'S just about as dumb

Riding a motorcycle is fun, but after owning a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder for 3 years I can tell you this:I had just as much fun in the convertable as I did the motorcycle (and less fear of getting hit and no fear of falling, oil slicks, gravel in corners, wet leaves, small animals, rain, etc., etc., etc.)

Don't know if he ever drops in on TubeNet, but I believe that Floyd Cooley is another.

I am torn between motorcycling and sailing.I love them both.Doing either one is akin to flying, which is another thing I would love to do if I had better vision.
