Cimbasso valve caps

Post by quesonegro »

Today I received a set of heavy valve caps from my man Franz Monschau. Beautifully crafted with a perfect fit! Awesome!! There's no doubt what the brand is now :)

Maybe I should get a set with CAM as the last one - would that make it a cambasso?

Sigh......these wouldn't work on my horn, my valve caps face the backside of the horn. I already know what my cimbasso is!
My opinion for what it's worth...

It's funny, my thinking is in totally another direction. My section mates have been encouraging me to have a tech make a "gun sight" out of brass and solder it either onto the bell or just in front of the mouthpiece. A simple crosshairs would do. I do have some extra time this summer....
