stupid question about annealing brass

I've never bent a brass tube, but I have worked on brass in the shop for other reasons, and know that it does indeed remain softer after it cools. Most metals get softer by being worked ("metal fatigue"). But brass gets harder from being worked. Annealing restores it to workability. My guess is that you would anneal first, then fill with pitch, then bend.

Is it possible to anneal with propane, or do i need MAP gas? I couldnt come close to getting the metal hot enough until it glows.

Propane oughta work just fine.
