I question how easy it will be to play. The tenor trombone is actually decent (aside from a scratchy slide) from F in the staff and above. It starts getting funky from 4th position-7th on the 3rd partial.
I got one for my son, and being only 3- it serves its purpose and can take a beating too.
I tried the alto trombone, and even with a variety of metal mouthpieces, it was extremely squirrely.
Everything has to start from somewhere...
