Come on--how much you pay?? You know you wanna tell everyone!! Then everyone can give their opinion on the "deal" you got.
BTW,
did it include rights to the third York when it appears?

Maybe I shout put on EBay some of the junker mouthpieces in Mr Jacobs box - the crap mouthpiece that comes with most new horns that everyone (including Mr Jacobs) pitches. Got a few of those dogs around!

If you're having any reservations at all about the price, know that I'll happily give you $160 plus shipping.

One day at his house, Mr Jacobs showed me this box of mouthpieces that was eventually auctioned. It came from his locker at Orchestra Hall. He would pick up a mouthpiece and say "I used this for Bruckner," or "I used this for Ravel" and so on. It was amazing that he knew the characteristics of the sound of each mouthpiece and would use that for whatever sound he wanted. All the decent mouthpieces were used and I assume that even Arnold Jacobs bought a horn that had a piece of junk for a mouthpiece. I did not want to confuse the issue so I did not sell the junk.

Worth, like fairness, is in the eye of the beholder. If you get joy out of this mouthpiece, then it is worth it. I commend you on going for something that makes you happy.
