Heavy Helleberg style

Post by RSMorgan »

Is there an inexpensive Helleberg-style heavy wall mouthpiece out there, similar to the R&S models of a few years ago?

Tony Clements makes them, though they are not "direct copies" of the R&S TUHH and TUHH-II. He is good to deal with, and once in a while he shows up here on TubeNet. They do cost more than a standard Helleberg, though. Go here for a description of the four different models:

I'm using his Ensemble mouthpiece on my Sonora. :tuba:
Principal tuba, Bel Air Community Band
Old (early 1900s?) Alexander BBb proto-163
1976 Sonora (B&S 101) 4-rotor BBb
1964 Conn 20J/21J BBb (one body, both bells)
~1904 York 3P BBb Helicon
Old Alex Comp.F, in shop
