I'm selling my B&S F Tuba, which is a pre-Perantucci model with all 5 valves on the right hand. I had an early PT10 before this one and the main difference is this one is lighter with no lacquer. The intonation is great. The only adjustments I ever make are playing 3rd valve D and 524 low A with the 5th valve slide pulled. 234 for that A is a little low with my slide settings.
I'm asking $4000 for the horn, which is what I paid back in the mid 90's for it. That includes the horn and a very heavy hard case. It has been reinforced with sheet metal in the bell section of the case, so it's flight capable. Actually, there are straps in the case to hold the horn down and I used to fly with my Hirsbrunner HB-2 in the same case.
If you know Daryl Johnson in the Louisville Symphony, the horn used to belong to him. I imagine he wouldn't mind telling you his thoughts on it.
It's a great horn but I mostly play brass quintet these days and I'm planning to buy a Yamaha 822s. I like the B&S for solo and some orchestral work, even a great deal of quintet literature, but I want something that blows more like my C tuba.
Feel free to email me at t-keyser@mindspring.com if you're interested. I'll polish it up and scan some pictures too. I never polish it since I like the rustic look, but it cleans up nicely.

B&S and Hirsbrunner Pictures
I have added pictures of the B&S F that's for sale and pics of my Hirsbrunner HB21. Give the page a few seconds to load.

The HB21 is nice, as you can see but I would prefer an HB2P or an HB20 if anyone would like to trade up to the larger bore size.
Just drop me an email at t-keyser@mindspring.com
Thanks,
Tim
