Also, the new Miraphone Bb I played a few years before that had a good slide, even out of the box from Germany. Damn thing weighs fifty pounds though.

Re: Chinese Contrabass Trombone
The F I played a few years ago was pretty nice. Great low range, nice sound, good intonation,... The valves on that one were fairly sluggish (just out of the box, tight at least) but I'd more than be up to try another one.

Does anyone know how much they cost? I would buy a bass P-Bone, but they don't make those....

Jonathan, mild exaggeration.
Still not a great design as that brace that looks useful for your thumb isn't. We'll see how this one turns out.

Re: Chinese Contrabass Trombone
Wessex Tubas have the double-slide BBb contrabass trombone in stock in Michigan and in the UK from next week. Anyone is welcome to visit to try.
I have had the Wessex enhanced over the standard with nickel inner and outer slides and gold brass bell. It will be up on the website soon.

Re: Chinese Contrabass Trombone
I recently purchased this model directly from Jinbao. Yes, it is a copy of the Miraphone BBb with a double slide.
For anyone interested in my opinion and experiences with Jinbao please contact me privately at - joestanko at gmail dot com
Suffice to say I will never buy anything from Jinbao again.. and the cost to fix the build mistakes should be less than $200 - which is coming out of MY pocket in spite of the manufacturing defects.

Re: Chinese Contrabass Trombone
I found the BBb to be stuffy.
Do they actually make an F contrabass? That would intrigue me.

Re: Chinese Contrabass Trombone
Hi Frank, the Jinbao plays better for me over the Miraphone I owned in the past and I don't consider it stuffy. It does take an American shank tuba mouthpiece..not a bass trombone mouthpiece which I feel works better in this model.
As far as the Jinbao F..been there already. Drop me an email if you want to try the BBb or for my experiences with the F.
