Untrackable internet surfing.

Post by oldbandnerd »

I found this web search engine that allows you to search with the internet in such a way that it isn't track able and doesn't leave cookies or other garbage on your computer. Its called Start Page ( https://startpage.com/" target="_blank ). If you use the Proxy service you can surf completely anonymously, but the pages are slower to load and vides can be a pain to watch.
The Proxy service isn't good to use for sites where you need them to recognize you like doing online banking, shopping, ordering freeze dried food for your bunker , etc .... . But, just plain ole surfing away from the prying eyes of ,well , just about every government agency it's great !

There IS no such thing as untrackable internet surfing. That was conclusively demonstrated by Anonymous' Operation Darknet, which culminated in the take down of a darknet child dorn site and the release of the usernames, IP addresses, and personal information (in some cases, including real names and home addresses) of 1589 pedophiles "hidden" on a TOR network.

Bottom line: if you're on the net, you're trackable. Period. EXCLAMATION POINT.

Oh ... and proxy servers make it more difficult to track traffic through the server, but they have one GREAT BIG HONKING privacy flaw: they do nothing to anonymize the traffic between your computer/device and your ISP and your ISP and the proxy server. If someone's sniffing a port anywhere between your device and the proxy server, they don't necessarily need to know where you've been surfing to: they can simply capture the content of the data stream and view it at their leisure. (And, of course, if your ISP is logging your traffic, they're logging all the keystrokes you're sending to the proxy server anyway.)

You should have no expectation of privacy or anonymity whatsoever when online or on the phone (cell or land line). It simply does not exist in this day and age. If "they" want to know what you've been doing online or who you've been talking to, they can figure it out.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Start page may have some value. While I think a majority of us would agree that everything on the net can be tracked or watched by someone (including this post), start page may keep google from storing your searches. Of course your ISP, our government and some European governments quite likely have web access to anything they want. Why, it wouldn't surprise me to find out some mega Chinese data storage site is keeping everything.......

I recently forgot my cell phone when I drove (1 hour) down into town and had to make some calls for appointments. So I bought a #20 phone at Target, with cash, that came with 40 minutes of free time. I don't see how anyone could possibly have known who was making the calls. Of course the numbers called could have been tracked, but if they didn't know who was calling them, I don't see how I could have been traced. And if two of us had wanted to talk about things we didn't want traced, we could both have bought those phones and then talked to each other on them.
