Requesting info: bundy euphonium

Post by munkyman »

I bought an old Bundy Euphonium about 10 years ago on a whim and I've used it to occasionally goof around. I'm looking to sell it soon for and buy a BBb tuba and get more serious...

I don't know much about it, other than it is made in England and I minimally fixed it up to get it playing. This message is more or less testing the waters... If there is any interest at all, I'm happy to post pics or any other info I can drum up.

My apologies if I'm not addressing this forum correctly... I'm new here.

Post a picture or two with attention to details like braces, ferrules, etc. The name 'Bundy' appeared on instruments made by several manufacturers. You might have something interesting (and maybe not :) ).

Here is a pic I snapped last night as I was going to bed -- sorry, not very high detail.

I will take more with a decent camera if there is continued interest...

Thanks... even if I don't end up selling it, finding out some more info is interesting to me.

No further pictures necessary as far as I'm concerned. The lead pipe brace alone tells me that this euph was not made in the US. I'll stick my neck out and say it could have been made by Besson but more likely by a European manufacture such as Amati. Who knows? The Bundy name appeared on the works of several manufacturers.

The narrow main tuning slide after the 3rd valve is interesting.

Value? Keep it and play it. I don't think you are likely to get more than a couple hundred bucks for it. It's probably a great pep band horn but not good for much else.
