Re: 2341 Case Info Needed
Wade, I don't know if you just wanted info. for purchasing a new case (or just for future reference) but
TheHat Tuba had one of these for sale & I think he still has it. I want it & need it for my 2341, but I just
haven't had ANY spare $$$ lately.

Re: 2341 Case Info Needed
Thanks, but the case sold a couple weeks ago. It definitely looked identical to an MTS though.TubaMusikMann wrote:Wade, I don't know if you just wanted info. for purchasing a new case (or just for future reference) but

According to his site, Lee Stofer uses SKB cases for the Kanstul Yorks, so they probably have the size you are looking for.

Re: 2341 Case Info Needed
IIRC, this is essentially what Baltimore Brass told me when I inquired a year or so ago about a case for my King 2341: that the interior "arrangements" are different in the two cases. I wound up buying the King case.Curmudgeon wrote:The 1207 isn't "fitted" for a 2341 or a 1291. It has a more generic interior and more room at the bottom bow allowing for that 4" difference in height. MTS does sell dealers a 4" thick by about 12" long pad that can be added. That pad is the only difference between a 1708 and 1209...TubaMusikMann wrote:I don't see how a case MTS lists as fitting a Miraphone 1291, can also fit the new style King 2341.Curmudgeon wrote:MTS does make the King cases. MTS 1207V is the non-King branded equivalent.
There is almost a 4" difference from top bow to bottom bow between these two horns.
If you want fitted, buy a fitted case... and pay the money.

So you bought an actual King case?knarfman wrote:IIRC, this is essentially what Baltimore Brass told me when I inquired a year or so ago about a case for my King 2341: that the interior "arrangements" are different in the two cases. I wound up buying the King case.
How much did it cost?

Re: 2341 Case Info Needed
Yes, I bought a King case. It was $550. I just went back and looked up my purchase data. The case I bought was/is listed on the Baltimore Brass web site under *Conn* cases, but has the description "Hard case for NEW King 2341 BBb tuba". When it came, it had the King logo on the outside. They still have them listed there for the same price.TubaMusikMann wrote:So you bought an actual King case?knarfman wrote:IIRC, this is essentially what Baltimore Brass told me when I inquired a year or so ago about a case for my King 2341: that the interior "arrangements" are different in the two cases. Re: 2341 Case Info Needed
Is there any difference between the 1207 & 1207V?
I usually see them listed as 1207V
