Coolio... Looks like cylindrical Hagmann valve, though this sparks worry in me, given the potential for open pipe in the valve. I wish I could get my hands on one and play around with it.

Hmmm.... looks like a piston with a rotary actuator.

Hmm. Does the valve move backward and forward like a piston, or does it rotate in its casing?

The pictures only show the player side and leave out the extra loop that you can kind of see on the opposite side. Still, no one on the trombone forum has been able to come up with a picture of the valve.
