We have a VERY last minute opening for a graduate (MM or DMA) tuba player at the Hartt School/University of Hartford. Due to the fact that this person would also perform in the 20/20 Ensemble, a 100 % tuition waiver would be offered to the accepted candidate. The 20/20 program is our premier chamber music program, comprised of some of the most talented students in the school. This person would be required to participate in the following ensembles:
- 20/20 Chamber Music rehearsals/concerts (mostly brass quintet)
- Hartt Wind Ensemble
- Hartt Symphony Orchestra (Sinfonia)
We have an active tuba/euph ensemble, directed by James Jackson III, Principal Euphonium with the Coast Guard Band, Conductor of the Hartt Symphony Band and instructor of euphonium. Participation is not mandatory but is much appreciated!!
- Tuba Studio Hour - meets once a week
- Weekly lesson
If not available to audition in-person, a Skype audition is possible. Please note: if you are a DMA candidate, you WILL have to come to Hartford to take the DMA entrance exams ASAP.
If interested, please contact me through my email listed below.

Is housing included in the scholarship? If not, is there any assistantship money available? I can't speak for everyone, but I know I gotta worry about rent and food.
