Just looking over a fingering chart

Post by LazyGhost »

Well, been looking at a few different fingering charts actually so I can retrain myself, somewhat, before my tuba is delivered. I still remember more than I thought! Woohoo! I aint blew on a horn in more than twenty years but I know ive still got it! Yall be keepin an eye out on youtube for one of my upcoming videos. Maybe Carnival of Venice.

Anyhoot, tween now and then, I cant remember why a Bb tuba fingering chart doesnt show a Cb or a Fb. Yet, in some music scores ive been browsing ive noticed some Cb notes. I reckon its cause a Bb tuba wont play those tones?

No, they're in there (installed at the factory  ) -- they're just using aliases:

So Cb is the same pitch as B natural, and Fb is the same as E natural. You may also encounter B# and E#, which are the same as C and F, respectively.

Sounds like you're doing fine ... looking forward to videos! :)
