HONK! 2013 in Boston (and Providence R.I.)

The annual gathering of a variety of "alternative street bands" will be happening in Somerville and other parts of Boston MA, October 11, 12, and 13th, then many bands moving to Providence RI on the 14th, and will feature a massive amount of low brass (mostly Sousaphones and Baritones, but you never quite know what might show up.) Most of the performances are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

There will be groups from London and Brazil along with many bands from all over the US.

I have been to many previous Honks in Boston, Seattle, and Austin - they are great events that present a very different aspect of group brasswinds and percussion performance, taking it to the streets!

Then the circus moves on to New York City (Manhattan and and Brooklyn) 0ct 15 to 19 (with some new acts added, some listed above won't be there.) The Honk NYC webpage is not updated yet.
