All Star Orchestra

Post by hup_d_dup »

The performances of this orchestra live up the hype of its silly name. Musicianship at a very high level ... well worth watching.

Interesting that the CSO, a supposed hallmark of orchestral brass sound, gets shut out of the brass section. This is just an observation and not a knock on the players involved, who are some huge names and amazing players.

Well, whatever the selection process was for this All-Star orchestra, all of these players are stars. That's not to say that this orchestra is inclusive of all OF the stars, but it's a damn good orchestra.

There also might have been reasons (contracts/schedules, unions, etc.) that prevented other people from participating. Who knows!

Actually from the looks of there being only one member at all from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, I'd wager that the CSO itself had a conflict in which they couldn't provide the valuable staff.
