How Rare?

Post by Tim Jackson »

I am trying to find an old Holton sousaphone neck and bits. Anyone have any pointers on mounting a search
for this kind of thing. Thanks in advance. Tim Jackson

Make sure the receiver hasn't been changed before buying a new neck and bits. These will cost perhaps $150-200 depending on how your dealer marks things up.

Nice post, Dan! Not being a technician myself, I had no idea all that was available.

I spent quite some time a few years ago looking for the correct neck for my Bohm Meinl small Bb Sousaphone. I finally had my local tech modify a Conn (I think) Eb neck to fit the horn. Perhaps I should have posted something here first...? (Not that I'm complaining. The "Tiny Tuba" (as my daughter's band mates call it) plays wonderfully, now.)
