Quick question -- I saw this on the TubaChristmas Web site for the NYC event:
NEW YORK CITY - 40TH ANNIVERSARY-HOLIDAYTUBAS
What is "Holidaytubas"?

Re: NYC TubaChristmas question
It could be that there will be a select smaller ensemble playing some of the arrangements that the Tuba Santas used to play. One year, Harvey sang, Santa Wants A Tuba For Christmas, while I played the bass line. Maybe, it's an arrangement of that tune.

Re: NYC TubaChristmas question
Holidaytubas is meant to be more inclusive of all faiths celebrating this time of year, I assume.

That's exactly what I am afraid of, and hope isn't true. I'm really hoping Bill's post is true instead.Dean E wrote:Holidaytubas is meant to be more inclusive of all faiths celebrating this time of year, I assume.

When asked, why don't you play music for the other holidays celebrated this time of year (or, something to that effect), Harvey would always say because this is a Tubachristmas concert!
