TUBACHRISTMAS Mystery Horn!!!

In this You Tube video from a Greensboro NC TUBACHRISTMAS (2011) @ 1:22 of the video there is a guy
with a beard, wearing a hat, that has a mouthpiece up to his lips (that he IS playing on) which is connected
to a leadpipe............but I DON'T see any horn! No tuba, no sousaphone, no helicon, no cimbasso,
NO NOTHING! What in the heck is this guy playing??? Any ideas???

Looks like master serpent builder Paul Horner himself playing!

I was there. I remember the serpent, but only vaguely the guy playing it. The two "odd" instruments in the mix were an over-the-shoulder saxhorn (Eb, I think) and the serpent. I don't actually recall HEARING the serpent. This was primarily because there were about 120 players at that event, and there was a substantial contingent of high school and college sousaphone players who the conductor (Askew) and the veteran sousie guys kept hammering on to stop blatting. They were marginally successful.
