EEb Tuba wanted for the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka

Post by ad4m »

In mid-November of this year I had the opportunity to visit Sri Lanka and play with there Symphony Orchestra and there Brass Ensemble. The standard of playing from these 'amateur' was fantastic with many of the brass section having the latest yamaha xenos and neos. However there Tuba player plays a very old Besson 982 covered in big black blotches with solder seriously suffering from the heat of 16 years in Sri Lanka. The valves for example are so stiff during various passages of Tchaikovsky's 'Capriccio Italien' he had to sit out and leave it to me as his valves are not up to the task. So I ask if anyone in the U.K has a EEb Tuba which they are willing to donate to this fine player, postage will be sorted out by myself. Thank you for your time :tuba:
