Where to find a box big enough for a sousaphone???

Post by Jeff Keller »

Does anyone have an idea as to where to find a box big enough for a sousaphone? I've called Uline and they will only sell in bulk. Checked with UHaul and my local UPS hub with no luck...

Are you looking for one in which to ship a sousaphone?

My repair guy is a partner in a music store that sells/rents/repairs string instruments and he gave me a box that their double basses came in. With some modification, it worked very well when I shipped a sousaphone.

Or check a grocery store. The big cardboard bins they use for pumpkins or watermelons are large, and super thick. Maybe even too big, just a thought!

I actually have a box that a sousaphone came shipped in...and all of the packing peanuts you would need.....also in said box....if you want to drive out to the Elgin area to get it.

MrBasseyPants, would you happen to still have that box? We are in Palatine and would be willing to come get it from you since we need to ship a sousaphone to a customer soon. If you do not still have it, do you happen to know what the dimensions of it were?

Thanks
