Re: Donation to Nashville Symphony
If they handle it well, the effect will last a heck of a lot longer than that $100k does. A six-figure gift from someone with her demographics and cultural presence is worth a lot more than the cash value if the development office plays it right. I would say this is a very important gift.TubaTinker wrote:How long will that last? .... maybe a week?

Re: Donation to Nashville Symphony
It's wonderful that Taylor Swift made such a gift . . . now if all the other entertainers who call Nashville home would do so, they'd really have something. She should have called for matching gifts.
We also need to remember that the Nashville Symphony was recently bailed out to the tune of some 20 million dollars by Martha Ingram, a board member. Ms. Ingram is one of America's richest women, so she had it to give and also gave 300 million to the Vandy Music Dept., but it is still a great act of generosity and kept the Nashville symphony alive. Thanks, Ms Ingram!
