Be careful guys. when I clicked on that "website" I got a message that my antivirus had blocked an attack.

That is curious. I went back to the site to double check and got no warning from Norton 360 this time. Hmmm. Malwarebytes is installed but the warning came from Norton. False alarm?

Take your camera. You will probably have one or two good chances at getting locals on that infamous website.
Had not seen this site before...

Awesome!

Me too. Something about a file with an 'exploit.toolkit' signature that tried to download and Norton didn't like it. I've visited the 'people of Walmart' website before and have not seen that warning. 2nd time around this time I did not get the warning message.

I think sometimes Norton errs on the 'safe side'. I've never had a serious problem with Norton. Now... the McAffee on my wife's computer is a different story altogether. Her computer was getting slower and slower so I dumped the McAffee and installed Norton on hers. Norton found 208 pieces of adware and other crap plus some kind of 'game console' that the grandkids apparently installed. Got rid of all that crap and her computer is quite happy now with Norton.

I lost 11 days of work a year ago trying to recover from a security breach that McAffee missed. I finally just spent $1000 for a new computer and lost 5 weeks of emails and documents. So far I've been able to work around it but if I get sued and don't have document support I'm going to be more than frustrated and angry with McAffee. Norton and Malwarebytes forever!

Is it possible to watch Chevy Chase's "Christmas Vacation" too many times? I'm just past the jewelry counter part where Clark gets sidetracked by the salesgirl.

It's a little after Noon and a few guests and I have already sampled two of the holiday stouts from Turoni's.... "Rudolph's Revenge" and "Mad 23".

yep... and - even though it uses up a lot of resources - regularly-updated Spybot.

you have to use more than one to cover eachothers weakness , and a lot of resources? how old are your machines? :|

I have been using Norton for 15 years on about a dozen different computers without a single issue. Mcafee on the other hand has been responsible for my computer security in both of the serious breeches I have had. Both times new computers came with Mcafee installed and I didn't change over. Within 6 months I had serious issues. I can't believe I didn't write Mcafee off the first time, but I didn't. The second breech was far more serious and taught me a hard lesson. I don't mind paying Norton's fees. I keep it on my 3 active computers at a cost of about $25 a year each. Until it disappoints I won't change.

WOW! Being semi-retired coupled with strange mid-week holidays REALLY makes a mess of things. Is tomorrow Sunday.... you know, ... when the 'fat' newspaper comes?

I used to do the same. From what I hear, it is much better than it used to be. I will still delete in from anything new that I buy, but only because after the trial, you have to pay. I used to do it only because it was so bad.

The tree is down, shrink-wrapped, and put away in its space under a stairwell. The furniture the recreation/music room is back where it belongs.... ready for a Dixieland rehearsal Saturday morning.

The corned beef brisket, potatoes, carrots, leeks, and rutabaga are cooking in the crock-pot awaiting the final addition of cabbage. Add that to some black-eyed peas and a glass of wine for the evening meal in a few hours.

The grandkids have returned to their homes.

Life is good!

Back to work today after having the last 2 weeks off. I have to say, every time I have a long vacation, I come back and realize that I really haven't missed my job at all. It's not that I don't enjoy it, I just don't miss it. Are there really people who *truly* miss their jobs and can't wait to get back to them? :? :)
