Fantastic new brass book

Post by bisontuba »

Hi-
I just received a new book (that I first found out about in the latest ITEA Journal) that is based on the current Berlin Instrument Museum exhibit on the 200th Anniversary of the invention of the valve. It is all in German (sigh), but it has great plates of the display instruments with all different valves, and includes an audio CD where some of the instruments are demonstrated. Very rare instruments are shown with many incredible low brass instruments.

The book is "Valve.Brass.Music: 200 Jahre Ventilblasinstrumente" (Hardback) (German)

This is a great addition and highly recommended!

Hi-
I bought mine from an English book dealer--don't know if anyone is carrying it here in the States....

I just ordered one through Amazon UK - they might have one left. About $70 US.

Just got my copy a few minutes ago - outstanding even without translation!
Very clear (but maybe just a bit small) pictures and more variety than all of my other reference books.
