Well Sh*t......

Post by Untersatz »

This will be my first time going to one of these shows. I hear this one at the Anaheim Convention Center is pretty spectacular. (Jan. 23 - 26)

I'll be there, stop on by the KANSTUL booth and bring your mouthpiece!
See the new lineup of brass (there may be some new instruments added to the lineup -- can't tell you yet -- hush hush!)

I might be able to go for a day or two, definitely won't forget to bring a tuba mouthpiece, or a bagful of them.

Wait, OK so I've never been to NAMM but would like to go. I always thought this was a trade show for music dealers only. If I'm wrong please correct my erroneousness.

I thought it was a show that was open to the general public
There goes that idea

I went to the NAMM in 1984. I played the new Yamaha YCB-621. It was awesome. The Navy wouldn't buy one for me.

Tubacube offered this NAMM Show invitation:
Tubacube wrote:I'll be there, stop on by the KANSTUL booth and bring your mouthpiece!
See the new lineup of brass (there may be some new instruments added to the lineup -- can't tell you yet -- hush hush!)
Jose the tuba player posted about his visit to the Kanstul booth:
their Biggest tuba was so big that i could not reach the slides to tune it.
Is the horn to which he is referring one of Kanstul's "new instruments added to the lineup?" Please explain and provide photos.

Thanks!

Well Steve, that might have been an invitation to the Kanstul booth, but the NAMM show is NOT open to the general public. I did however send a PM to Tubacube asking how I could get into the NAMM show, but I did not receive any reply at all
Had I been admitted to the show I was prepared to try many tubas & take as many high res. pictures as I possibly could. Also the Kanstul booth was to be my main reason for attending.

Jose, was this the 5433 "Grand BBb" 5/4 or a newer model?
Also what were the new models that Tubacube was was hinting at?
