Yes - if he had laid out, it would have pretty much been just an accordion solo - since nobody else on the front line was playing at all!

It is maybe a bit unfair for the MC to call a tune for the band, but they do have an extensive history - many LPs from The Cletus Goblirsch Band.

Doesn't sound as if that jug band had listened to / cared about / was capable of the source material.
