Sort of an odd way to make one of those things playable with the left hand but I guess it works. The leadpipe is obviously modified.

Yes. At first I thought that it was kinked over but obviously not. Would appear to be a couple of inches shorter overall than original as well. Easy enough to make a replacement.

Guessing the seller doesn't know tubas or this instrument's history because the oddity isn't mentioned.
