That is the smaller York BBb sousa. They are slightly smaller than a King 1250, and in my experience are not quite as free-blowing and resonant, but it is still a good horn, particularly for the price. It looks to have been re-fitted with a Holton-style upper mouthpipe (neck). Check the pitch, and if it is good, it is a good deal.

hi there,
if you´re on the market for a sousaphone and from the netherland I would look into
http://www.usa-vintage-saxophon.de" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank. Alex has over 25 used good american ones. And he has way more then shown on his homepage. I would give him a call. I bought my King 2350 made in the 60s there and it´s an exellent horn. Good luck!!!

Hi to all

I chime in to this thread. I got an offer for a York sousaphone. SN is 103731. Neck is no original. 850 €. What do you think of it? Any comments?
Thanks in advance!

Very nice. Try to play it, if you can, before buying it :tuba:

I should add that the gooseneck is a King, one of the bits is King and the other is Conn. You may want to try to locate proper neck/bits if possible.

That won't be possible, as the sousaphone is in Poland and I'm in Switzerland. :(

Does somebody here on TubeNet has an original neck and original bits? That would be great.
