I'm trying to find a recording (any quality really) and have been unsuccessful so far.

Don't know of any recordings. Maybe something exists on magnetic tape? I'd contact Dave at the University of Minnesota. His email should be listed on their website.

Wire stands may be a good idea, though they would certainly be less entertaining (for the people playing anyways).
