French C tuba Recordings
Anyone know of some recordings? Doing some research and wanting to hear this instrument.

Re: French C tuba Recordings
Any proof that someone actually knows how to play one of these monsters properly?
I have owned one for a few decades - still have no clue why it was ever made nor what the reason for the fingering variations from "normal" was. I think the ophicleide is actually a bit more rational. (Not that I am a good ophicleide player either.

There is a DVD of Pictures, with French conductor (Cluytens?), which uses only the French tuba on pictures.

Thanks for that link! The tubas are overblown by the horns and trombones, but still a great version of the one musical composition that ever gave me nightmares (after watching Fantasia when I was about 6.)Bob Kolada wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq1q6u3 ... ata_player" target="_blank
